OUR STORY
Welcome to Banks Basics.
We invite your into our space to consciously keep your littles wardrobe filled with timeless classic's curated and designed by a mother + daughter duo.
Founded in the middle of 2019 isolation on the East Coast of Australia, with a 7 month old on my hip we felt the urge to naturally curate, create and showcase our beautiful sustainable handcrafted first capsule collection from the 4 walls of our home. From designing, pattern making, cutting, sewing and quality control we managed to do all this ourselves whilst in covid isolation.
With quick growth & demand for larger quantities, we spent time to research and find ethical & sustainable factories off shore.
As the borders re opened in 2022, we ventured to Bali, Indonesia - a place Hayley called home for 7 years prior to giving birth to her son Banks. We met with our manufacturing team and moved full steam ahead. Hayley decided to base herself full time back in Bali with Banks to look after the production side of the business while Jo, stayed to continue the designing and managing the back end logistics behind the business.
It was in October 2022 we found a perfect sized shop being built nestled in the heart of Canggu, that sparked our interest as we always knew we wanted to eventually open our very own shop for our customers to shop.
So born was Banks Basics Bali Store.
OUR MISSION
As a brand, we are always looking to educate and make changes to help us leave a lighter footprint on this beautiful place we call home. All packaging used for Banks Basics is bio degradable, and we currently use very little plastics or synthetic fabrications.
We have over 30 employees within Bali that lovingly contribute their part in each piece we sell online and in store. We hope to one day grow and continue to employee more local artisans of the island.
